Teenagers on average spend 6.5 hours on their phones daily. It is reported that even during homework time and other designated productive time, teenagers still spend their times in their phones. Now imagine teenagers being forced in the house with technology open range. Of course they are still in school, but there learning is now 100% online. Putting their biggest distraction with their biggest responsibility opens them up to a lot more technology. I can vouch, even being in college it is a lot. I have more work to do, but sometimes my screen wins. Below is a video linked about teenagers (screenagers) and their biggest distractions.
Perception is everything. Perception is based solely on personal beliefs, very bias of course. This may be considered the biggest way rumors spread and become bigger than the initial scandal. Wanna hear how this works? Okay, you listening…well reading? Let’s say sarah coughed next to someone, addy saw the spit go directly on them from the cough. Then addy told Jessica, who despises Sarah. Jessica told her friends that Sarah spits on people. Then the story keeps getting bigger and next thing we know sarah spits on people with her aunt because she’s evil. This story can get more creative when we add the travel of the rumor on the internet, use your minds, get creative. The video down below shares exactly how rumors spread through the internet
Lets’s just get right into it. I nor my friends was ever raised with much of a choice on what our parents were entitled to. From my phone all the way down to the color of polish on my pinky toe. after reading the “Parent App” I am a little bothered by the entitlement those teens had. My mother never checked my phone but if she wanted to, who am I to put up a fight. Privacy is limited when you are under your parent/s roof.
With that being said I am not disagreeing that it could feel like a total invasion of privacy. I think parents should trust their children. On the same hand children are that exactly, a child with no say on their parents decisions. I would have felt the same way if my mother was checking my phone for hoping to catch me in something. Especially if she did not let me know she was snooping on me. In this article I will attach below it is discussed how parents unknown snooping is a breach of trust. I completely agree, so everybody just hand them you’re phones now…I’m just kidding, but if they ask you totally should.

“Send me a pic” use to be a cute gesture when your new love/like interest wants to flirt with you. Now it is even more than just a simple flirtation, its the early stages of initiating a hook-up “sex”. Although teenagers sexting is most times considered child porn. that doesn’t mean that it is in any way shape or form always wanted. Many teens reported only taking part in sexting because they were asked to. Of course saying no is also an option, but for impressionable young minds this means that their crush or boyfriend/girlfriend will leave them alone. Sexting should something that takes place between couples out of their own enjoyment and should not be used to keep anyone’s interest. The article linked down below discusses other reasons for teen sexting and statistics between male and female teens on their average sexting habits.

“Ear phones off, phones away” the most famous phrase by professors. As a student it does sound a little irritating to hear often. yet it does make me think about how much of our lives are spent on line, or in technology. It’s quite sad that being off of the phone for less than two hours, seems like a punishment. Even while doing homework I have to keep my phone out of reach or I will constantly check it. I’ve noticed this and I still have yet to fully change my ways. After reading this article by CBS things do make a little more sense. CBS says “the more texting comes habitual, harm can come to teens academically”, meaning the more teens text and stay in their phones can shape there intellectual abilities. I’ve noticed this in myself, the more I am on my phone that day, I want to do less work. I think the less you use your brain, the less one’s motivated to work.

Online learning is very difficult, excruciating to say the least. Okay maybe not excruciating but it is definitely stressful. I hate to admit this but I never thought I would miss attending class. My teachers for the most part, have done the best of their ability to give us good quality education from home. The biggest struggle for me is having to focus at home, where there are many distractions, fun ones to be exact.
An article I was reading talks heavily on planning for success in online learning and teaching. I think teachers having a clear outline of my week to week work has helped me with my own responsibility with my assignments. I needed to make a plan, as if it was my school day to finish this semester off strong. The article is down below with many tips and tricks to have a successful online learning experience. I hope you find this helpful as well.

Lies, lies , and more lies have been stirring up on how to combat this very serious virus. okay…okay…okay, not lies, rumors. To be completely honest no one knows for sure what is helping besides staying in the house. One remedy that has been going around is a heat and citrus boil. YouTube and social media has been raving all about it. COVID-19 is explained to be killed off in hotter weather and the citrus cleans your system. Though we do not know the truth, why not do everything possible to protect your health, right? Watch this video and let me know your thoughts! YouTube even has my own family doing this face steam.
While growing many of you probably wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, police officer, even some of you wanted to be little pretty princess! Now we are living in the times of social media, and with this platform comes a new array of possibilities. Todays society allows children to grow up and aim for non-traditional careers, social media influencer may be one of those far fetched ideas. There is a social hierarchy on apps like Instagram, snapchat, and but not limited to Facebook. Social media influencers influence people that follow them with new trends, their products and much more. Although many people will argue that it is not exactly a job, social media does help “regular'” people with their more traditional (real) jobs. Entrepreneurs for example in todays society uses social media to display their products. Apps like Instagram, is a big platform that can reach millions and help the seller each their business goals. No, social media is not traditional to act as an office front, but it is heading to be a norm. In the link below, there is an article with some really great tips on getting one’s online presence up. We know…we know work is piling, dishes are piling up and little Julianna or Madison won’t stop begging for things. Every 5 seconds, and we know you mean literal seconds, you hear “mom” followed by a thousand task. So finally you, give in, “here take my phone or go watch Disney.” Calms them right down, well in most cases. As our life is steadily getting busy,we don’t realize the long term affects of screen time. The article link above, leaves nothing to be imagined. Not to say don’t use tv or the internet period for you children, because who will get all of your financial and household work done? No one but “MOM!”
Instagram and other various social medias will have us believing that all younger kids brains and time if filled with watching baby shark. (look it up…WARNING! gets annoying) That is not fully the case, children will be occupied by what is around them. What you feed will grow. In this case singer/actress shares a video of her daughter summoning Siri to play her favorite song by Kash doll a rapper. Although not a first choice for most parents to suggest, the mother daughter duo seem to enjoy the song and it makes them happy. Parenting and appropriate music is clearly dependent upon the parent, and we should allow it to stay this way as long as the child is safe!
